"Lilypalooza"

It's Day 7 with Lily-cakes.  Sorry about not posting last night.  We were EXHAUSTED from our day of travel.  But we had a great time with Lily last night!  It was a party!   Hence, we think "Lilypalooza" is a great word to describe last night!  Thank you Berg family for giving us that word!  Love it!!!  I'll start with late yesterday.  When we got to the hotel, Lily was toast!  Her schedule is so off with all the appointments and travel and such.   We had to put her down for a nap right away even though it was 4pm.  She did not sleep on the plane!  So if anyone wants to try this way to sleep ;) it works for her!

Dale ran across the street to get us McDonalds for dinner!  YES!  It was AWESOME!  Lily likes fries people!  A Big Mac never tasted sooooo good!   Guangzhou is nice :) We like it here!  AND... only 8 million folks living here. ;0  It's different with less craziness.  Motorcycles are illegal on the sidewalks.  So you don't feel like your playing a live "Frogger" game when you cross the street!   They speak Cantonese here, not Mandarin.  Anyway...we dined in the room with Lily.  It started a little rocky because Lily would not sit by herself.  She reared back again and would have nothing to do with it.  But after we gave her a few minutes, she quieted down and this is what we found her doing.

That is the photo album we sent to her months ago at the orphanage.  She is studying all her family faces! :)

Then we asked her to come to us.  And she finally got up and walked to us!  Making strides!!

So the "Lilypalooza" started around 8 or 9pm.  And I can only describe it to you because I don't have pictures!  We were just soaking her up.  She got sooooo crazy and played with us for at least a couple hours!  It all started with her socks.  Dale took them off of her and would throw them at her face.  She just thought that was awesome!  She would grab it and throw it back to him.  Then Dale accidentally threw one over her head and it landed on the bed but the other side.  She crawled over to it and threw it back to him.  Gotta say, she has a good arm!  Then it all escalated with Lily standing up on the bed and flinging her body into Dale, then diving onto me on the other side.  She is fearless!  And crazy!!  It was SO much fun!  Needless to say, we all slept great last night...all the way to 7am!

Today is Sunday for us.  We have discovered that Lily is slow to wake up.  And when I say that, I mean she is awake but needs time to adjust to being awake.  Yes, that is correct Amy & Diane and all of you that know me so well.  I AM SAME :))   I need time to adjust with my coffee. It is my morning best friend:)  So basically, Lily just wants to lay there and not talk to you for awhile.  I am OK with that.  I understand you Lily-bee:)  This morning she even went back to sleep.

So once we got awake and going, we went on a tour with our group to Six Banyan's Temple, Old Chen House and an art and crafts shopping center (got a Jade cross for Lily).  It was nice to see a cross!  They say that Buddhism is still most prominent here but Christianity is here too.

On our tours, Lily discovered that smacking her BaBa is funny :0

AND, Lily likes to shop!

And to my boys at home... you will be happy to know that Lily loves Pringles!!

And everywhere we go...there are Lilies!  EVERYWHERE!  For our friend Cristina who loves this flower...I took the below pic:))  Congrats Cristina & Josh on your baby girl Gabriella Grace!xoxo

As I type "good night" (good morning to you!), Ron Burgandy (Anchorman movie)  is on in the background!  Yes, Ron Burgandy is here in China ;)
Blog at you later.  xoxoxoxoxo
